Flynn Lin
Founder & Editor
Flynn Lin is the founder, editor, and sole operator of UFO Declassified. He built and maintains the archive, writes the analysis articles, and curates every record page on the site.
Background
Flynn has been fascinated with the unknown since childhood. Growing up in China, he read every issue of Feidie Tansuo (飞碟探索, "UFO Exploration") — a monthly magazine that was, for years, the country's only mainstream publication dedicated to UFO reporting and investigation. That magazine taught him to treat sightings as data to be organized rather than mysteries to be sensationalized — an approach that directly shapes how UFO Declassified is structured today.
His favorite filmmaker is Steven Spielberg, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) remains the single most formative film of his life — not for its aliens, but for its patient, ordinary protagonist who simply refuses to look away from something he cannot explain. He is also a longtime fan of the American miniseries Taken (2002), which traced a single family's encounter across generations and reinforced his belief that the human story around UAP matters as much as the technical record.
Why This Site Exists
By day, Flynn is an independent developer and website operator. When the U.S. government launched the PURSUE initiative in May 2026 and began releasing declassified UAP records through war.gov/UFO, he found the official portal powerful but hard to navigate — large file sizes, inconsistent naming, and no contextual analysis. UFO Declassified is his attempt to fix that: a searchable, citable, human-readable archive built by one person who cares about getting the source material right.
Editorial Approach
- Primary sources first. Every record page links back to the original government file.
- No sensationalism. Analysis is clearly separated from fact; interpretation is labeled as such.
- Citation-ready. Each page is structured so researchers and journalists can cite it directly.
- Corrections welcome. Errors are fixed promptly — see the contact page.
